BAGATELLE ATHENS

Tucked inside the exclusive Astir Marina Vouliagmeni, Bagatelle Athens brings a refined dose of French Riviera flair to the Athenian coastline. With its elegant design, vibrant energy, and commitment to joyful living—or, as the French say, joie de vivre—this restaurant delivers an experience that is both elevated and deeply soulful.

From the moment you step into Bagatelle, you sense that this is more than just a dinner spot—it’s a place where food, ambience, and emotion intertwine. The open-air terrace, with its yacht-deck aesthetic, plush seating, and moonlit views of the marina, sets the perfect stage for a memorable evening. Indoors, the ambiance is equally sophisticated, transforming into a stylish dance floor after midnight—true to the brand’s global reputation for blending fine dining with celebration.

Executive Chef Joseph Kahat, born and raised in Athens to a Syrian father and Polish mother, brings a rich cultural background to the plate. Trained across Europe and shaped by diverse culinary influences, he blends the bold flavors of the Middle East, the precision of Central Europe, and the honest simplicity of Greek cuisine. In our conversation, he spoke of cooking with generosity and intention—values that shine through in every dish. Read my restaurant review and interview here

The Signature Cocktail menu, presented by in-house sommelier Andreas, offers Mediterranean-inspired creations, such as the Vue Mer, a gin-based cocktail featuring sage and apple, and the Lumière Dans Noir, a tribute to Greek mastic. The wine list spans over 230 labels, including 32 by the glass, giving guests the chance to explore both local and international terroirs.

Striped red mullet

Menu highlights include the Tuna Tartare Bagatelle-style, served with creamy avocado and a hint of Espelette pepper; the visually stunning Riviera Salad, with green beans and a fragrant melon sauce; and the Striped Red Mullet, flame-seared and drizzled with a basil-laced olive oil sauce. The Ravioli del Plin with Castelmagno cheese and truffle pairs beautifully with a glass of Limniona wine from Domaine Zafeirakis. Another must-try? The King Prawns, cooked in lemongrass and topped with grilled kumquat and pesto.

Desserts are equally indulgent: the Jivara chocolate pizzetta (a world champion dessert) and the Tropézienne tart filled with Madagascar vanilla cream leave a lasting impression.

Prices reflect the elevated quality: starters begin at €18, salads at €26, pastas and meat dishes from €38.

Whether you’re planning a romantic evening, a stylish dinner with friends, or want to treat yourself to one of Vouliagmeni’s top dining experiences, Bagatelle Athens stands out as a celebration of good food, effortless elegance, and the Mediterranean lifestyle at its finest.
