The Elliniko Experience Park located on the premises of the old Athens airport is the newest urban park set in the heart of the Athenian Riviera. Covering an area of over 70,000 square meters it is the first part of The Ellinikon which is now open to the public. Over the Christmas holidays the Elliniko Experience Park turns into a true winter wonderland.
About The Ellinikon Project
The Ellinikon, upon its completion will be Europe’s first greatest urban regeneration project with the plans of becoming a multi-dimensional destination located on the premises of one of the largest coastal parks in the world.
Upon its full completion, this impressive and unique Mediterranean coastal development will cover an area of 6,200,000 sqm. The Ellinikon is an epitome of the future sustainable living and will become Greece’s first smart city.

Visitors are invited to witness and explore the magnitude of this grand project at the The Ellinikon Experience Centre. A vibrant bird’s-eye tour completed with impressive innovative installations will walk you through the development’s history, as well as present the grand plans of this mega-living project. Here you are invited to explore the numerous walking and biking routes, the smart accommodation complex which features the latest modern technology as well as take an imaginary ride along the coast.

Christmas Festivities at Elliniko Experience Park
For the second consecutive year the Elliniko Experience Park will host a series of Christmas Festivities from December 9 until January 8, 2023.
The Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place on December 9 at 19:00 starting with the impressive musical fountain show accompanied by a live orchestra.
A series of events and surprises await visitors of all ages at this vibrant oasis in the heart of Athens. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Hill of Lights, the Garden of Reflections, the Magic Christmas Carpet and of course the stunning Water Maze.
Food & Drinks at the Experience Park
Throughout the holiday season guests can savor a variety of snacks and drinks served at the numerous stalls located just around the Christmas Tree. The list of vendors includes Burger Joint, Bubble Tale, Hans & Gretel, Lukumades, Johnie Hot Dog, Esteban Burrito Bar and Falafeladiko.
Other activities at the Experience Park
The Ellinikon Experience park is open to visitors at all times of year and offers numerous opportunities to experience moments of relaxation while connecting with nature. This sustainable park features over 500 trees and 55,000 plants that are endemic to the Mediterranean seashore.
Outdoor fitness area: A great way to stay in shape while enjoying the serenity of the pristine surroundings under the blue Athenian sky.
Forest playground: A family friendly destination that ensures a fun experience in a safe environment. Designed with kids in mind this wonderful playground is completed with 35 wooden constructions and interactive toys such as climbing tree houses, music constructions and swings. The playground is also equipped with games suitable and accessible to persons with disabilities.
Zen garden: Here visitors are invited to become one with nature and enjoy the serenity of a beautiful garden complemented by water elements.
How to get to Elliniko Experience Park
The Elliniko Experience Park is easily accessible from the centre of Athens and other areas of Attica region.
The entrance to the park is located just off the Vouliagmenis Avenue.
For those coming with a car, free parking is available on the premises of the park.
The following bus routes are available that stop at Elliniko
– 122 St. Argyroupoli – Saronida
– 171, Varkiza – St. Argyroupoli
– 790, Glyfada – Peristeri
– A3, Akadimia – Glyfada
– Χ97, St. Elliniko – Airport Athens
If you plan to come here with a metro, take the red line 2 that goes to Elliniko.
